Charlotte: topicality and form

Five consecutive defeats for the Hornets… A very bad series which made them move back in the standings of the Eastern Conference. While their goal is a direct qualification for the final stages of the NBA, the players of Charlotte are now ninth, with several losses more than their competitors. They must therefore quickly stop this negative spiral during which they lost against the Clippers (95-110), the Celtics (113-107), the Cavaliers (101-102), the Heat (86-104) and the Raptors (101-116). A defense once again much too porous will not forgive against very offensive Bulls.

Hornets: players to follow

Charlotte has recovered several important players and it shows in its offensive animation. However, Gordon Hayward is not yet certain to play the match. The players to follow should then be LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges. They finished with 15, 20 and 25 points respectively in the loss to Toronto. The youngest of the Ball brothers is a skilled three-point shooter and his team is heavily dependent on his form. He’ll have to step up his game this time around if he wants to end the Hornets’ losing streak.

Chicago: topicality and form

The Bulls may be frustrated after their loss to the Suns. Indeed, largely dominated after the third quarter, they managed a last crazy recovery with 41 points scored against only 25 for Phoenix. But it was too late as the Suns had made the difference earlier in the game (124-127). This result remains relatively encouraging, at least more than the previous defeat against Philadelphia (108-119). Chicago has lost a place in the East and finds itself third with the same balance sheet as the Cavaliers. He would therefore do well to start again against the Hornets, an opponent within his reach.

Bulls: players to watch

45 points against the 76ers, 38 against the Suns. DeMar DeRozan hasn’t been in the lace in his last two outings, especially against teams with solid defenses. The player confirms that he has his place as a starter in the next All-Star Game. Given his current form, he will be closely watched by the Charlotte defense. This could give another Chicago player a chance to shine, Zach LaVine. Fresh off an injury against Phoenix, he finished with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists.
